With her California cool style and flawless hair, it’s no wonder Olia Majd has amassed such a loyal following. Her blog, Love, Olia, is a go-to for all things beauty and style in sunny San Diego and we’re totally obsessed with her. Day in and day out her posts reflect her effortless fashion sense and keen eye for details.

Recently, Olia and OXiGEN teamed up to help recover during the holiday season, check out the Q&A below to see what she had to say!

OXiGEN: What led you to become an esthetician and eventually a blogger?

Olia: I actually went to college and became an Accountant (I know, crazy right!?). I worked as an Accountant for about two years until I realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life. My mom is an esthetician, who always wanted me to come work with her, so I had a realization! I went back to school, got my license as an esthetician, and worked at her salon for about three to four years. I loved it so much, and that’s what really got me into the world of beauty. With girls always asking me tips on skincare, makeup and outfits I thought, “why not create a website where I post all about this?” And that’s kind of how the blog began!

OXiGEN: If you had a list of “best-kept secrets” about your industry, what would it include?

Olia: Just be consistent, do what you love, and never conform to what you think you HAVE to do. I started my blog because I loved it, not because I wanted to make money out of it. It was something I did for fun during my time off. When you truly love what you do it always shows.

OXiGEN: OXiGEN is all about recovery. How do you recover? Do you have any specific ways, or places you escape for rest and relaxation?

Olia: I actually love working out – it’s kind of my escape. I’ve put a lot of emphasis into getting healthy and working out regularly, which is something I never used to do. I guess as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized it’s something important that I have to take time to do now and it really clears my mind.

OXiGEN: We love the “fitspo” you provide on your blog! What do you do to stay active in San Diego?

Olia: Fitness is a big part of my life. I work out with a trainer 3x a week and then go to the gym on the off days by myself. It’s not easy, but I’ve honestly seen my body transform, which is what really keeps me going.

OXiGEN: Oxygen provides energy, stabilizes the nervous system, sharpens concentration and alertness, detoxifies the blood and improves the immune system, provides a natural remedy for aches, soreness and much more. Can you share with us the importance of oxygen in your overall daily health and wellness?

Olia: For me, if I have enough oxygen in my body I’m more alert and honestly happier. I concentrate more and find more energy to do the things that I love to do.

OXiGEN: How would you describe your style aesthetic?

Olia: I have a girlie style with a little edge as well. Leather is my thing.

OXiGEN: If you could only use three beauty items for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Olia: Being an esthetician, skincare is my go-to. I can’t live without a good cleanser and moisturizer. Then, it would probably be a good concealer. I’m very basic and believe in utilizing natural beauty!

OXiGEN: What is one of your go-to winter beauty treatment and/or tips & tricks?

Olia: Moisturize!! During the winter the air is so dry and literally dries up every part of your body and face. When you moisturize properly it makes makeup look 10x better.

OXiGEN: What is one of your go-to holiday party styles that our readers could adopt?

Olia: I love going all out. Like an awesome sequins look for NYE.

OXiGEN: If a friend were visiting you in San Diego for the first time, what restaurant would you take them to?

Olia: I am obsessed with Little Italy (district) – I’m literally there all the time. I would say Bencotto or Civico 1845 are two of my faves for authentic Italian food!

OXiGEN: What’s your favorite December food indulgence?

Olia: Well, I’ve mostly cut out sweets, but in December I indulge a little. I’m a sucker for any kind of pastry or cookie!

OXiGEN: What are three things on your holiday wish list?

Olia: I’m actually not big on receiving gifts. I mostly like to give! I have everything I need and I just like giving to other people.

OXiGEN: Who inspires you?

Olia: My mother – she’s always worked so hard to provide the best possible life for my brother and me and it pushes me to work hard every day.

OXiGEN: What’s some of the best advice you’ve ever received?

Olia: Never give up. Always do what you love and don’t do things because other people are.

OXiGEN: We’re looking forward to a fresh start and hitting reset in a few weeks! Any goals or new year resolutions you’re taking on in 2017?

Olia: Hoping to continue my fitness goals into 2017. This is the longest I’ve gone so hoping I keep it going!

OXiGEN: What’s on the horizon for you in 2017, project-wise?

Olia: I love what I do and I’m so grateful I get to do what I love everyday. I hope that I can grow more and continue to inspire more people and be given more opportunities with brands that I love and admire.

OXiGEN: We’ve had some great music this year, what’s on your go-to December playlist?

Olia: Currently loving the new Taylor Swift & Zayn song! (I Don’t Want To Live Forever)
